Wow! Has it really been 30 years.......
Shortly after graduation in 1979, I married Roy Castleberry (class '77). We were blessed with a son in 1982. Timpson was our home until 1988, when we moved to Huntsville, TX, to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In 1990, Roy and I divorced.
I met a very special friend in 1992. Tom Daniel Hill became my mate in July 1993.
Danielle was born in 1995. True to her nature, she was in a hurry, even back then. All 2 pounds and 1 ounce arrived at 29 weeks gestation to change our lives forever. Really amazing things really do come in small packages! She hit this world talking, singing, and charming her way into everyone's heart. Danielle was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. We consider ourselves very blessed that all of her disabilities are physical. She has perfect speach and a large vocabulary and is not afraid to use it! I do not joke when I say that she is the toughest person I know. Although many challenges have come her way in her 14 years, the strength and faith she has is an inspiration to us all.
Danielle's hero and big brother, Kirk, graduated from Huntsville High School in 2000. He served 6 years in the Texas National Guard Reserves, and received his Business degree from Sam Houston State University in 2007. I am very proud of him and his beautiful wife, Catherine, who live in Spring, TX.
My husband, Tom, is a family practice physician. Together, we owned and conducted a medical practice for 7 years. The offer of better hours, no call, benefits, and a salary from Sam Houston State University was much too enticing to turn down. He has been employed by their student health center for 5 years now.
In 2001, after lots of specialty training and preparation, we opened Huntsville's first and only medical spa. It has grown to be a very sucessful venture and keeps me very busy. I consider this "fun medicine".
My first love is emergency medicine and I have maintained a paramedic license since 1984. Fate dropped a really exciting opportunity in my lap last year. As a registered nurse and paramedic, I have had the opportunity to participate in several critical care, fixed-wing air medical transports to the Middle East. This Timpson country girl would have never dreamed of seeing such far-away lands and meeting such interesting people!
As you see, we stay pretty busy. I am so excited to find this site and hope to be able to reconnect with my friends.
Thanks to those who have made this possible!
