Betty Jo (Richards) Parker passed away May 15, 2020, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Betty was born April 3, 1930, in Martinsville, Texas. She was raised by her grandparents, Marvin and Florence Ramsey. Betty graduated from Timpson High School. She stepped on a bus after graduation and found employment as a nanny for a young girl. All the while she was working, she was putting herself through business school. Betty soon landed a job as a secretary for Bud Adams at Adams Oil. Adams owned the Houston Oilers at the time. Betty was the only trusted employee to take the millionaires bank roll to deposit every week. While working for Adams, she had a telephone installed. Unbeknownst to Betty, the telephone man would become her husband. She lived with the telephone man's aunt, so when Clifford came over for dinner they recognized each other and fell in love. They were married soon after. Betty retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after more the 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty loved her family and would do anything for them. She was a great caregiver and cooked for her mother-in-law until she passed away at 112 years old.

Betty was preceded in death by husband of 56 years, Ellis Clifford Parker; mother, Lavennie Galbreath; and special aunt, Alma Bridwell.

Survivors include: daughters, Betty Ann Taylor and Mae Dean Hahn; son-in-law, Marvin Hahn; her adored grandchildren, Jared and Lizzy Hahn, Timothy and Katy Taylor, Constance and Brandon Adams; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Kendall and Harley.

An inurnment service will be held, 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Antioch Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.
