We believe this is the correct Thelma Walker from the Class of 1923. The date of birth matches and she lived in the Timpson area.
Thelma Walker was born on February 14, 1906 in Timpson to parents Bart J. Walker and unknown mother according to the 1910 Census. She possibly had thee siblings...Randolph Walker, Lillian Walker and March Walker. She graduated from Timpson High School in 1923. On August 14, 1940 she married Lucien L. Deaton in Amarillo. In 1978 Lucien passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas and on June 5, 1999 Thelma passed away in the same city.

Funeral services for Thelma W. Deaton, Wichita Falls, were held at 10 a.m. June 9 in the Crestview Mausoleum Chapel with Lois Watts, a Christian Science reader, officiating. Entombment was in the Crestview Mausoleum under direction of the Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mrs. Deaton was bom in Timpson and died June 5, 1999, in Wichita Falls.
She and Leon Deaton were married August 14,1940. He died in March of 1978.
She was a school teacher in Olney and attended North Texas State Teachers College.
She had been a resident of Wichita Falls since 1929, and was a Christian Scientist.
Survivors include a nephew, eight great-nieces and great-nephews, two step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren.
