Mary Laverne Foster, 88, of Hallsville, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Hallsville. She was born in Timpson, Texas on October 28, 1926 the daughter of Bluch and Ophelia Hayes. Graveside funeral services will be Monday, October 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson.

Mary was raised in Timpson and graduated from Timpson High School in 1944. After graduation she moved to Houston and married Herschel Foster in 1958. Mary was full of energy as she was always going and doing something. Some of her time was spent doing the things she loved: reading, gardening, painting and traveling. She was always to go to person when you needed to know something. She knew a little about a lot of things. When her grandchildren and then great grandchildren came along, they were the apples of her eye. She sure did know how to spoil them.

She is survived by her daughter: Sharron Haden and her husband J.B. of Hallsville; sister: Sherel Oleta Skinner of Houston; grandchildren: Paul Chipman and Carmen Johnson; great grandchildren: Angel Flanagan, Ariel Chipman, Chelsea Haden, Alyssa Chipman, Blake Haden, and Cale Chipman; and by two great-great grandchildren: Ellayna Haden and Sadie Kay Stone. Mary is also survived by a host of other extended family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bluch and Ophelia Hayes, her husband Herschel Foster, daughter: Susan Oleta Foster, brother: Charles Hayes and by two great grandchildren: Chris Chipman, Jr. and Riley Hopkins.
