Adele McLendon was bonr on November 17, 1908 in Cushing, Texas to parents Henry and Lula Welch Mclendon. She graduated from Timpson High School in 1927.  She attended Jacksonville College.  She married Steve Cavazos in Kingsville on January 1st, 1932.  Before her marriage she was teaching at La Jarita Ranch in Willacy county.  Steve was a graduated of the Texas Military Institute in San Antonio. He was a Lt. in the U.S. Army serving as a reserve while working for the Kings Ranch in Kingsville. Apparently according to her death certificate, she lived on the Kings Ranch at the time of her death on September 3, 1967.  She was 35 years old.  Adele was laid to rest in the Bella Vista Cemetery
