Claude Davis Hairgrove, age 83, of Timpson passed away Thursday, February 26, in Oak Manor Nursing Center, Nacogdoches, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Sunday March 1, 2009, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, with Bro. Dock Lazarine and Bro. James Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas.
Born September 1, 1925, in Timpson, Claude Hairgrove was the son of the late Mark C. and Lizzie (Rhodes) Hairgrove. Mr. Hairgrove was a graduate of Timpson High School and spent his life operating a dairy farm near Timpson. He was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church, Timpson.
Survivors include his sister Betty Bailey of Center, brother Vernon Hairgrove and wife Francis of Splendora, sister-in-law Francis Hairgrove of Pasadena, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded indeath by 2 brothers: Marcus Hairgrove and Linvell Hairgrove; brother-in-law Jimmy Bailey and sister-in-law Mabel Hairgrove.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.
Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
