Martha Sanders Irvine, 88, has broken the chains to this earthly life and soared into Heaven December 29, 2011. Mardi was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the union of Jewel and Hulon Sanders. Many will remember Mardi's sweet smile from her days at Joske's, from which she retired. She was a faithful member of Faithbridge Church in Deer Park . Mardi is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving children and their families, Lyn and Danny Harkness of Nacogdoches, Sandra and Larry Thomas of Deer Park and Alida and Kenneth Donnell of Pasadena. Mardi is also survived by loving grandchildren, Dana and Mike Amason, Mark and Glenna Harkness, Pam and Gene Rieves, Amy and John Prosser, Connie and Andreas Dors and Rebecca Donnell; as well as eight great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2012, at Upper Melrose Cemetery, in Nacogdoches County, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Melrose Community Cemetery Fund in care of Danny Harkness, 478 County Road 331, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961.
