Funeral services for Mrs. William Edwin (Kate Elizabeth) Lyford Sr, were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, in University Methodist Church.  Burial in Highland Memory Gardens.  A native of Timpson, Texas, she had lived in Lake Charles for 46 years.  She graduated from Timpson High School.

Survivors are her husband; one son, William Edwin Lyford, Jr. of Dunedin Fla; one daughter, Mrs. Charles J. (Marty) Natai Jr. of Lake Charles; one brother, the Rev. George Welcome Harbuck of Mansfield; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
