Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 pm for John Allen Brown, Jr., 46, of Port Arthur,a former resident of Timpson.  Services were held at the Gramier Oble Funeral Chapel in Port Arthur with Bro. Buford Cain of Pasadena officiating.  Burial was in the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Port Arthur.

Mr. Brown died at his home in Port Arthur Monday morning.  He was born Sept. 29, 1922 at Timpson and graduated from Timpson High School.  He was a veteran of World War II and was employed at the Texas Refinery in Port Arthur. 

He is survived by his wife, Polly; one son, John Allen Borwn III of Port Arthur; one brother, W.C. Brown of Tyler; mother, Mrs. John A. Brown, Sr. of Timpson and grandmother, Mrs. Mary Carter of Tenaha.
