Funeral sevices for Thomas E. "Ted" Taylor, Jr. 80, of Timpson were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jean Ferraro officiating .  Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson. 

He was born July 12, 1925 in Timpson, Texas to parents Thomas Edgar Taylor, Sr. adn Harriett Clements Taylor.  He passed away January 12, 2006 in Timpson.  He was a civil engineer with Pure Oil Co. and Morton-Thiokol Corp.  He was a graduate of the University of Texas, he servedin the Merchant Mariens for 4 years during WWII and the U.S. Army for 2 years during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Timpson First United Methodist Church, Timpson American Legion Post #90, having served as Post Commander and Historian;  Timpson Lions Club, Sons of the Republic of Texas; and was licensed professional engineer.  He preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen Taylor of Timpson; sons, Thomas E. Taylor, III and wife Nancy of Illinois;  Clayton Moore Taylor of Timpson;  brother, William R. "Bill" Taylor of Timpson;  granddaughters, Allison and Elaine Taylor of Gibson City, Illinois.

Pallbearers were L.G. Allen, David Pike, Tom Amos, Bobby Ritter, Titus Brandon, Bradley Allen, Vernon Higginbotham, Marion Shepherd.  Honorary; Ralph Thrift, James Webb, John Keer, George Dunbar, Joe Dillon, Bill Todd adn Forrest Broadway.  (Courtesy of TAGHS Area Obituary Book)
