Carroll Smith Barco, age 92, of Winter Park, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1925 in Orlando to the late Claude and Mary Barco. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II, where he received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal, 2 Bronze Stars, and the Point System Amphibious Force Insignia. Mr. Barco was an attorney who practiced law in the State of Florida and the United States Middle District Court, as well as being a traffic court hearing officer in Orange County for over 20 years. He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Florida and spent many years as a Gator Booster. He was a member of Azalea Park United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Bahia Shrine, The American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and The Orange County Bar Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Susan Barco; daughters, Carolyn (Richard) Freeman, Tayman (Stephen) Barnett; son, Carroll Smith Barco, Jr.; grandchildren, Carolyn Kennedy, Eric Freeman, Athena (Steve) Barco, Tayman (Jonathan) Menke, Andrew (Leah) Barco, and Stephen (Samantha) Barnett; great-grandchildren, Connor Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy, Maggie Menke, Brady Barnett, Bradford Menke, Logan Barco, Annabelle Barco, and Kairi Barco. Visitation for Mr. Barco will be from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Azalea Park United Methodist Church, 50 Willow Dr., Orlando, Florida 32807. Funeral services will also be held at the church on Tuesday at 10:30 am. A private burial will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida.
