Frances Elizabeth Caswell, 96, passed away July 3, 2008, in Tyler. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Bullard Cemetery in Bullard with Rev. Larry Wickham officiating. Visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home prior to the service on Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. Frances was born December 4, 1911, in Gary, Texas, to the late Thomas Woolsey Williams and Emma Pearl Hilliard. After graduating from Gary and Timpson High School, she attended Stephen F. Austin University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Frances taught elementary school in Gary, Bullard, Tyler and Corona, California when her husband was stationed with the Air Force at March Field during World War II. Frances Married Thomas Julian Caswell on December 25, 1938. They resided in Bullard and then moved to Tyler in 1951. In Tyler, Frances belonged to Trinity Baptist Church and later Green Acres Baptist Church. Frances taught Ladies Sunday school at Trinity, but her first love was teaching third and fourth graders in Sunday school for 39 years. Frances also taught Vacation Bible School. Frances was a member of Gateway Garden club and loved gardening and sewing. Frances' favorite reading was always the Bible. Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Travis Williams and Ben Hilliard Williams, and her sister, Naomi Gertrude Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Caswell; three nephews, three nieces, and three great-nephews. Pallbearers will be Thomas Claybern Williams, John Ben Williams, Ben Louis Williams, Robert Travis Williams, Travis Woolsey Williams, and Jared Lee Williams. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Buckner International Orphanage, 2000 N. Pearl Street, Dallas, 75201.
