Funeral services for Syble Wedgeworth Keeling, 99, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Timpson, Texas. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Timpson, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10.00 a.m. before the service begins in the First Baptist Church in Timpson, Texas. 

Syble Juanita Wedgeworth Keeling was born on December 23, 1916 in Dodson, Panola County Texas. Syble was the daughter of Lonnie F. and Monnie Griffin Wedgeworth. Syble was a graduate of Timpson High School and a member of First Baptist Church, Timpson. Syble married Jim Frank Keeling on August 25, 1934. Syble was a faithful and loving companion supporting her husband in his educational career as a teacher and later as the Superintendent of Gary Schools in Gary, Texas. Syble also loved spending time with Jim Frank and their two girls at their farm raising cows and watching the timber grow. In late years, Syble’s greatest joy was her 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. 

Syble was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Christine Wedgeworth Champagne and Gwenith Wedgeworth Tyer, her sister-in-law Barbara Wedgeworth, and also her son-in-law James Newman. 

Survivors include daughter Martha Nell Keeling Newman of Shreveport, Louisiana, daughter Vicki Ann Keeling Bush and husband Gene Bush of Livingston, Texas, and brother, L.F. Wedgeworth of Carthage, Texas; nephew Mike Champagne of Shreveport, Louisiana, and niece Kay Tyer Nix of Timpson, Texas. Grandchildren Keith Newman of Roseburg, Oregon, Kerry Newman and wife Debra of Chatham, Louisiana, Leigh Ann Weaver and husband John of Shreveport, Louisiana, Amy Yates and husband Mike of Shreveport, Louisiana, Shelly Sitton and husband Johnny of Livingston, Texas, Janan Moore and husband Mark of Livingston, Texas, David Bush and wife Jana of Livingston, Texas, Mark Bush and wife Jenny of Livingston, Texas; along with a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
