Mozelle Brown (Tiller) - Class Of 1930 VIEW PROFILE

Mozelle Brown was born on December 7, 1912 to paents Orban and Willie Brown. She had at least two siblings, Cecil M. Brown and Orbam Brown.  She graduated from Timpson High School in 1930.

MANSFIELD, LA - Mrs. Frank L. (Mozelle) Tiller, Sr., age 92, passed away Sunday morning after a brief illness. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Rose-Neath in Mansfield and the service will be at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church on Polk Street in Mansfield, Reverend Ken Norton officiating. Graveside services will be held at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Reverend Ken Bryan officiating. Mrs. Tiller served her community for many years as an active member of the N.W. Louisiana Conference of United Methodist Women, president of the Hathors Club, member of Board of Directors of Louisiana Council on Aging, member of Advisory Board of People's State Bank, president of DeSoto General Hospital Auxiliary, receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2005. She participated for many years in the Senior Olympics, winning over 15 gold and silver medals. She and her husband Frank were owners of Tiller Shoe Center of Mansfield. Born in Timpson, Texas, Mrs. Tiller was valedictorian of her graduating class and attended Stephen F. Austin University.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Frank L. Tiller, Sr. She is survived by one son, Frank L. "Les" Tiller, Jr., and his wife, Amy. She has one granddaughter, Karen Minnis; one grandson, Thomas Neal Talley; two step grandsons, Jason Lovett and Kenneth R. Baumeister, Jr.; one great grandson, Matthew Minnis and nine step great-grandchildren. She was very fond of her nieces Burnell Brantley, Melba Steeg, Georgia Roenigk, Jean Jamail, and Cynthia Hayes as well as her three nephews, Spencer Tiller, Buck Hayes, and Gordon Law.

Pallbearers will be Gil Rew, Jason Lovett, Tony Sanca, Roger Hylan, Richard Wilkerson, David Jalanivich, Fidencio Pauc, and Bo Odom. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana.
