James Troy Webb

MINDEN, LA - James Troy Webb, of Minden, Louisiana, went to lend his voice to the Angel Band in Heaven on February 16th, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Troy was born on December 26th, 1935 in Timpson, Texas. He married Gwendolyn Dupuy on March 30th, 1958, and they had three children: Sarah, Jimmy, and Mike. Troy was the owner of City Pest Control in the Minden area for over 40 years. He loved his work and especially his customers. Troy was well known for his singing and guitar playing locally and throughout East Texas where he was born and raised. Playing country and gospel music was Daddy's passion. The only thing that made him happier was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a man who loved God and people. His "gift" was helping others while making them laugh.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Webb, sister and brother-in-law Gertie Loyce and Billy Ray Collins, and brother-in-law James Johnson.

Troy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gwendolyn D. Webb; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Tim Tully; two sons: Jimmy Webb and wife Karyn, Mike Webb and wife Becky; sister, Joyce Johnson Davis and husband J.C.; brother, Weldon "Tuffy" Webb and wife Shirley . Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren: Justin Webb and wife Sandi, James Webb, Morgan Webb, Lydia Webb; step-grandchildren: Matthew Sawyer and Kimi Sawyer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Royce Chapman, Mid Johnson(nephew), Mark Johnson(nephew), Hershel Barnes, Basil Alexander, Justin Webb(grandson), James Webb(grandson), and Matthew Sawyer(step-grandson).

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 19, 2012, from 5-7 pm at First United Methodist Church, 903 Broadway, Minden, LA. Officiating the funeral services the following morning, Monday, February 20th at 11 AM, will be the Reverends John Cannon and Wayne Howington at First United Methodist Church Minden. Burial will immediately follow at Centuries Memorial in Shreveport, LA.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to First United Methodist Choir or Lakeview Methodist Youth Fund.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Dr. Michael Chanler and his staff for all of their care and compassion.
