Services for Mr. Powdrill, 68, of Timpson, were held Wednesday, August 10, 2005, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Eldredge, Pastor of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church officiating at 10 a.m.  Burial was in Powdrill Cemetery in Shelby County.

 

Mr. Powdrill died August 7, 2005 in Nacogdoches Medical Center.  He was born March 12, 1937 in Waterman Community in Shelby County to Howell B. Powdrill and Lois Allison Powdrill Renfro.  He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, a Baptist, and was a member of the Center DoSaDo Square Dance Club for 13 years.  He was a retired air traffic controller with the FFA.  He was preceded in death by his father.

 

Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Gerry Powdrill of Timpson; mother, Lois Renfro of Longview; son, Keith Brian Lowdrill of Timpson; daughter, Melody Dannette Powdrill of Shreveport, La.; brother, Johnny Ray Renfro of Timpson; sister, Marcia Jean Kesterson of Longview; 2 granddaughters, Kara Dannette Powdrill and Kylie Lynn Powdrill of Timpson.

 

Pallbearers were Joe Wester, James Bogue, Jim Rogers, Lee Wester, Dan Gannon, Robert LaRue, Roy Noble.
