HAMPTON — Master Sgt. Larry Paul Humphries, U.S. Air Force, retired, 64, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, after a short illness.
A native of Timpson, Texas, Larry had been a Hampton resident since 1981. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, retiring in 1981, after 23 years of distinguished service. His memberships included American Legion Post 25, where he enjoyed sharing his sea stories; Newport News Moose Lodge 1119; and the Hampton FOP Lodge.
Larry was preceded in death by his son Paul Humphries and is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary E. Humphries; daughter, Debra Brown of Leander, Texas; son Larry James Humphries of Zepher, Texas; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Ketterman of Hampton; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and asister, Sue Courtney of Houston
 
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Linkous officiating. Burial with American Legion honors will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton.
