Austin State University in Nacogdoches and attained the Bachelor of Science degree in 1948. Mrs. Dickens had a lifelong love of art and took pleasure in painting and drawing. Many of her oil paintings depicted rural scenes and were displayed in the homes of friends and family. Mrs. Dickens was a gardening enthusiast for many years and participated in the local garden club while living in Spring, Texas for 33 years. Mrs. Dickens will be remembered for her zest for life and contagious sense of humor. She touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
