Samuel Downing McDaniel, 83, of Austin formerly of Timpson, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Seton Medical Center in Austin.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Timpson with Rev. Wayne Calder officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Mangum Funeral Home.

He was born September 25, 1933 in Timpson to Hershal C. McDaniel and Elizabeth (Weaver) McDaniel. He graduated from Timpson High School in 1950. He served in the US Army. He was a trial attorney for many years.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Hershal C. McDaniel, Mother, Elizabeth (Weaver) McDaniel Wright, Step Father, Fred Wright, Uncles& Aunts, Doris Wedgeworth, Richard Downing McElfatrick & Vivian Menefee and Cousin, Jimmy Sanders.

He is survived by:
