Janes S. Cantrell, 69, of Dillion, Colorado, a homemaker, died April 21, 2002.  Creamtion services were held at Sparkman/Hillcrest in Dallas. 

She was born November 6, 1932 in Chicago.  She was raised in Timpson where she was Valedictorian of her Senior Class of 1949.  She attended the University of Texas, at Austin where she majored in Bussiness Adminstration.  She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta social sorority.  Her father, Gilbert Smith, was a physician and her mother, Ruth, was a registered nurse; both predeceased her as did her younger sister, Cathy. She married William W Cantrell August 30, 1952 and lived in Dallas after finishing college  When they took early retirement in 1986,they moved to Colorado to ski and enjoy the numerous outdoor activiies.  She was a very active volunteer with the Republician Party while in Dallas. 

She is survived by her husband;  two daughters, Karen Palmer, Grapevine, Texas, and Susan Blair, Canton, Texas; two sons, Craig, Austin, Texas and Keith, Frisco, Texas;  isx grandchildren;sister Betsy Smith, Washington.
