Obituary for Mrs. Alice Rhiddlehoover

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Rhiddlehoover, 85, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Mrs. Rhiddlehoover died June 24, 2017 in Carthage, Texas.
Mrs. Alice Lenora Ramsey Rhiddlehoover was born September 2, 1931 in Shelby County, Texas. She was one of six children born to the marriage of Ernest Bryan and Kathleen Dunaway Ramsey. She was raised in Timpson graduating high school there with the class of 1948. Alice received both her Bachelors and Masters in Social Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. She would marry the love of her life Thomas Howard Rhiddlehoover, May 31, 1968 and they would celebrate 49 years together.  
Her career as an educator would begin in Andrews, Texas followed by one year teaching at the Army military base school in Stuggard, Germany. She would continue to teach In Katy and Carthage Independent School Districts. Alice and Howard were loyal members of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Ernesteen Walker, Doris Cassidy, Glen Ramsey and two infant siblings.  
Mrs. Rhiddlehoover is survived by her devoted husband, Howard Rhiddlehoover of Carthage, sister-in-law, Yvonne Carter and husband Reid of Carthage, brother-in-law, Sam Reed of Rockhill, nieces, Deanna Humphrey of Anahauc, Martha Murtz of Moore, Ok, Rhonda Gates of Houston, Regina Humphries and husband Charles of Carthage, and Roxann Reed of Rockhill, nephews, Maurice Cassidy of Greenville, and Dick Walker of Anahuac, other great nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
