Betty's obit is in The Tyler Morning Telegraph. She died July 27, 2013 in Whitehouse. Betty and I were good friends when her dad was the preacher at my church, First Methodist of Timpson, as I was growing up. Betty was a year older that me. She treated me with respect and I looked up to her. She was a very talented person. One of the first things I remember about her is the doll clothes she sewed for her dolls. Betty made the first pizza that I ever tasted. It was Chef Boyardee. I lost contact with her after she moved from Timpson. She told me that they moved to Henderson and that is where she graduated. In the past couple of years I have had the pleasure of renewing our friendship. We emailed often and had lunch in Tyler. She was still the sweet person that I knew as a youth.
