Charles Wayne Hooker,Jr., age 22, of Jacksonvile, Florida, formerly of Timpson passed away Wednesday, August 3, near Clayton in Panola County, Texas.  He was born February 22, 1966 in Lufkin, Texas.  His parents were Charles Wayne Hooker adn Sara Nell (Rhodes, Hooker) Raines.  Wayne was a 1984 graduate of Timpson High School and a member of the Shelby County 4-H Drill and Precision Riding Team for several years.  He was a Navy Airman D-3, Plane Captain, Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Florida.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Charles Wayne Sr., and Pat Hooker of Lufkin, Texas; mother and stepfather, Sara Rhodes Raines and John Raines of Timpson; one daughter, Jennifer Hooker of Timpson; one brother, David Hooker of Lufkin; five sisters, Pam Harbinson, Brenda Mackey, and Johnica Raines of Timpson; and Kelly Hooker and Debbie Contreras of Lukin.

Paternal grandmother, Mrs. Sallie Hooker of Timpson and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Raines, Sr. of Timpson.

Services were held on Saturday at 11am at the Timpson Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Eldredge officiating.  Music was by Nora Magness and Gail Hairgrove. Interment was in Timpson Missionary Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers were Mike Gotham, Kevin Strahan, Calvin Smith, Tim Bush, Tim Magness, Joe Carrington, Bruce Samford, Steve Cooper and Marion Burnett.

Honorary pallbearers were Fred Hasson, Bubba Rhodes, Doye Cantrell, Bret Taylor, Terry Amos, Bubba Carrington, Larry Crump and Jeff Drummond.
