About
Glynn's obituary
Glynn Allred Hartt, born on June 1, 1955, peacefully departed this life on December 17, 2024. A man of many sterling qualities, he was a devout Christian, warm, welcoming, loving, funny, selfless, attentive, faithful, wise, and a dedicated family man. A lover of music, particularly rock'n'roll, his talent playing the guitar lead many to refer to him as Glynyrd Skynyrd, which was well earned. Above all, he was empathetic, honorable, and righteous.
Glynn leaves behind his beloved daughter, Jessica Sampson, who will forever cherish her father's memory. His teachings — to put God before everything, to stand up for what is right even when outnumbered, to always do the next best thing, and that respect must be given to be received — will continue to guide Jessica throughout her own life.
During his lifetime, Glynn reached significant milestones including his retirement from Stephen F Austin State University, a joyous marriage of 33 years to his wife, Iwana, and his unwavering faith as a Saved Believer of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His legacy serves as a firm reminder that a life well lived is measured in the works done for others, not in the things left behind.
A funeral service to celebrate Glynn's life will be held on Saturday January 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, where he was a member and served in the Praise Band.
Glynn Hartt, Dearly missed, Never forgotten. His earthly presence may have passed, his teachings, love, and the great character he demonstrated will forever persist in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
