Kay grew up in Shelby County. She was a teacher at Timpson Elementary School for 29 years. Kay loved to cook and could often be found in the kitchen cooking for her family. She enjoyed watching Food Network and football games. Kay and Cecil enjoyed spending time with friends and going out to eat with them. They also loved to travel and took many long trips together. She was a caring soul and was faithful to check up on her friends and family. That caring spirit carried over into the ministry that she did by sending cards to church members. Kay was an active member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church for 60 years and then at Hope Well Missionary Baptist for the last 10 years of her life. She was very active in Sunday school classes and the Ladies Auxiliary. Kay loved the Lord with all that she had. And she loved her family with that same fierce heart. The highlight of her life was when her grandchildren came for a visit. She will be missed by all who knew her.
