Bobby Goff passed away on March 16, 2001, at his residence in Longview. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, and one son, Joe Goff – both of Longview.
I will never forget the fourth grade, me, mr Goff, and the flutophone. I told him one day that I had that flutophone mastered. I thought I was ready to challenge for first chair which if I remember right was occupied by Suzy Langston. He told me I was ten miles from a challenge and one hundred miles from the chair. To me he was a greaband director and teacher. I was saddened when he left Timpson to go to Hallsville. I missed picking on him and I can't figure to this day how I got away with it.
