Joseph David Peters of Celina, Texas passed away on February 27, 2019 at the age of 76.  He was born on October 10, 1942 to Russell and Claryce (Hairgrove) Peters in Timpson, Texas.  Joseph graduated from Timpson High School and continued his education at Stephen F. Austin University where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree.  Joseph married Kristin Kay on August 31, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling.  Joseph loved watching his grandkids in sports and activities.  He was a member of Rhea’s Mill Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kristin Peters of Celina, Texas; daughter, Paula Culbreath and husband, Michael of McKinney, Texas; son, Brian Peters of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, London Culbreath of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Ryder Culbreath also of McKinney, Texas; sister, Martha Brothers of Sugarland, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Claryce Peters.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
