"Last one through, knows what to do"....a saying that Mr. Wharton always seemingly told us on field trips to farms and barns when we had to go though a gate or door.
I remember all the good times we had on the field trips, and Mr. Wharton chewing his "Beechnut" chewing tobacco and driving the buses with is "foot on on the floor" a good man in all respects. James Ceal
I always had great respect for mr Wharton. Learning was fun in his class. Will never forget the field trips and the time he drove one of the buses to take us to the state fair in Big D. I also remember him letting us chew tobacco and spitting out the window.
