James H. Cross was born on August 21, 1914 to parents, Grover Cross and Jessie Lane in Center, Texas. He possibly had at least two siblings according to the 1930 Census, Gover C. Cross and Ruby Lee Cross.  At that time the family was living on Cross Moore Rd. in Shelby County.  James graduated from Timpson High School in 1933.  James served in the Army during WW II.  He was married to Anora Jessie Cross.  James died on August 26, 2004 and was laid beside his wife in the Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.
