John Francis Cooke was born on June 15, 1914 to parents Frank and Johnnie Cooke.  He graduated from Timpson in 1931.  He was married to Gladys Cooke. In November 1939 according the school paper he was vice president of the Cotton Belt State Bank in Timpson. John "Scooter" Cooke passed away on October 14, 1993 whiel living in Seabrook, Texas.  He was laid to rest in the Oak Knoll Cemetery near Belleville, Texas.  Gladys passed away in 1997 and was laid to rest beside him.
