John B. Motley was born on Aprl 22, 1912 to Evie B. adn Gooch H. Motley.  He had at least three sibilings-  Alma, Gooch.H., and Pauline.  In 1920 the family lived in Overton, Texas.  In 1930 he lvied in Hoston with his brother Gooch.  He graduated from Timpson High School in 1933.  On July 23, 1940 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp. for service in the Phillippine Department.  At the time of enlistment he was divoriced adn was a Salesperson.  At the time of his death on March 30, 1982 he was married to Hazel Seale Motley.  They are buried in Sunset Memorial Park in Nagdoches, Texas.
