Funeral services for Wendell Jewell Scott, 60, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2013, at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, with Bro. Justin Coburn officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery, Timpson. Mr. Scott passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, in Timpson.

Born June 24, 1952, in Jasper, TX, Wendell Scott was the son of the late Alvin E. “Bo” Scott and Joyce Keating Scott. He graduated from Timpson High School in 1971 and served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He and Thelma Hutto were married on March 29, 1975, in Timpson. Wendell worked for many years as a foreman with Southern Pacific Railroad.

Survivors include his wife Thelma Hutto Scott of Timpson; mother Joyce Keating Scott of Garrison, TX; daughter Wendy Coats and husband James of Nacogdoches, TX; granddaughter Kinley Marie Coats of Nacogdoches; nieces Kristi Grogan of Corpus Christi and Karla Leslie of Tyler; and nephew Phillip Cross of Tennessee.

Wendell Scott was preceded in death by father Alvin “Bo” Scott and sister Veronica Cross.
