Honoring the life and service to our country of US Army World War II Veteran, First Lieutenant WILLIAM RAYFORD TODD on the 75th year of his death.  Born on Independence Day, 1912 to William A. (1887–1947) and Madge (1891–1956) Todd. The family resided in the Arlam Community in Rusk County in 1920 and later moved to Timpson, Texas. Wounded in France on July 18, 1944 from machine gun fire he returned to action on September 6th and was killed in action one week later.  He s buried in Plot M, Row 1, Grave 17, Brittany American Cemetery, St. James France.  He also has a memorial marker in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, Texas.
