Curtis Brewer Stilley - Class Of 1927 VIEW PROFILE

Curtis Brewer Stilley was born on June 10, 1910. He graduated from Timpson High School in 1926.  He married Hattie.  At this time we do not know her maiden name.  He moved to Beaumont and went to work for the telegraph company.   At this time they had one daughter, Gloria Stilley, age 2.  (Gloria would later married Harlon Eakin).  Curtis work required for him to move a lot.  From Port Arthur, Beaumon, Lafayette, New Orleans, to El Pason where his firs wife died.in 1945.  He 1945 he moved to Oklahoma City were he met and married his second wife, Ruth who also worked for Western Union.  Curtis went to work for Western Union delivering messengers on a bicycle and ended up working 47 years for them.  He retired as Vice-Preisdent.  Curtis loved to fish making trips to Minnesota.  In 1974 he gave the Commencement Speech at Timpson High School for his grandson's Willie Eakin graduation.  Curtis passed away on July 7, 1994 and was laid to rest in the Corinth Cemetery near Timpson.
