Dixie Ruth Tippett was born on March 15, 1926 to parents Robert D. Tippett and Ollie Dee Wood.  It appears she had one sister, Bobbie Tippett.  According to the 1940 Census she was living in Gregg County, Texas with her mother and Stepfather, C.H. Barr. In 1944 she graduated from Timpson High School.  In May of 1944 she enlised in the Cadet Nursing Corp at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston at the age of 18.  Dixie passed away on April 16, 1995 in Nacogdoches, Texas at the age of 69.
