Services for Maxine Rhodes Pate, 90, of Longview will be held in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Dr. Rick Webb officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Pate passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 in Longview.

She graduated from Timpson High School in 1943 and worked as a bank teller. She married John Pate, the love of her life and they were married for 63 years. During this time she was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper. She was active in the churches she attended. They lived in Center, TX, Tulsa, OK, Daingerfield, TX and returned to Longview, TX when they retired. She was a member of Longview Missionary Baptist Church for several years.

Maxine loved crafts, sewing, decorating, baking and teaching others to do crafts. She also treasured time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She was known as “Gaggy” to them.

Several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Pate, parents Cecil and Gladys Rhodes, sister Geraldine Haden, brother Thomas Rhodes, and son-in-law Dwaine Barthol.

The family especially thanks the staff at Buckner Westminster Place, Dr. James Sawyer and staff, and Care Team Hospice. They provided loving care and support for Maxine and her family.
