We are not sure if Hiram graduated from Timpson High School or if he gradutaed the year of graduation.  We do know in the spring of 1919 Hirman won the state championship in the shot put.  Hiram was born on August 21, 1901 to parents Berry Monroe Shipp and Elizabeth Ann Libber Miller.  He had at least six  siblings.  Ernest Hunt Shipp ((1893-1918), Addie Mae Shipp, Loy Monroe Shipp, Velma Barbara Shipp (1900-1983),  Oran Shipp (1904-1977) amd Lutie Miller Shipp (1908-1934).  We know that Velma graduated from Timpson in 1919 also.

Based on his birthdate, it is believed that this is the year that Hiram would also have gradutated.  According to the 1940 census, Hirman was living in Shreveport, LA. and working as a taveling salesman.  As best as we can tell at some point he was living in Shelbyville, Texas.  Hiram died on November 7, 1993 and his headstone shows he was married to Birdie E. Shipp.
