Roscoe Brinson - Class Of 1901 VIEW PROFILE

Roscoe Brinson was born on June 7, 1884 in Timpson, Shelby County along with twin Oscar to paents Adam John Brinson and Adeline Whitson.   We know in as a 12 year old on Aug. 2, 1896 he sent a letter to the Houston Post that states he was in the fifth grade.  Then later in life he shows on his draft registration that he had completed 5 years plus of college. The 1917 records show he graduated from Texas Christian University in 1913 with a B.A and was working as a clerk in War Dept.  He also must have attended the University of Texas as he listed in this General Register of students and former students for on UT.   .

The 1910 census records show Roscoe living in Timpson so based on this and letter from the fifth grade we have concluded he graduated from Timpson High School in 1901.  Also a article in Timpson paper stated he graduated in 1901.

In the 1920 census he was married to Margaret F. Brinson and had they had a one year old son by the name of John R. Brinson who was born about 1919.  At this time he was woking in the War Department in Washigton.

The last records we have of Roscoe was in 1942 at the age of 58 he had to register for WWII.  On his registration card it shows he was living with his wife, Margaret, in Richmond, VA.  and was working in the U.S. Patent Office.

This was the last information we could find on Roscoe.  We could not located when and where he died.

His twin brother, Oscar, died on November13, 1909 and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery along his father who died in April of 1909.  His mother passed away on January 18, 1934 and records show she is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery also.
