Born Oct. 17, 1925 to Jack & Nettie Kyle in Chillicothe, Texas, on their 10th anniversary and what a gift he was. He passed away August 3, 2013.
Ottis graduated from Timpson High School in Timpson, Texas and entered the U. S. Army shortly thereafter. He served in the 291st Infantry, 75th Division in the European Theater for 18 months and followed Gen. Patton in the Battle of the Bulge. Returning to Houston he entered the University of Houston, graduating in 1954. He later covered the Houston area for the Jack Olsta Company selling Heil Tank Trailers for an additional 19 years.
Life wasn't all work and no play. Ottis and his wife, Barbara, traveled 48 states and the southern Provinces of Canada, British Colombia, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island in their motorhome.
