Annie Leah Gregory (Smith) - Class Of 1941 VIEW PROFILE

Annie Gregory Smith, 64, of Timpson passed away Wednesdy, May 6, 1987 at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 7, in Taylor Chapel with Danny Rhinehart of Summerfield United Methodist Church officiating.  Betty Crump provided the music.

Interment was in Woodlawn Cemtery.

Annie was born September 16, 1922 in Beaumnont, Tex to Joe Shelby and LeolaTims Gregory.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member for the First United Methodist Church.

Annie, with 15 local concerned citizens of Timpson, went to E.M.T. school in 1977.  They began a Volunteer Ambulance Service, January 1, 1978.  She was elected Secretary/Treasurer in 1980 serving until May 6, when God called her home..

She was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce. She worked with the Frontier Days committees, werving in many capacities.  Annie designed the Frontieer Day buttons each year.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lloyd Smith in March 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Shelby Crump of Denver, Colo.,and Gregory Crump of Rockdale, Texas;  one daughter, Drewan Ballard of Nacogddochers, her twin sister, Ellen Moody of Gainsville, TX.; and six grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
