Mildred Pollard was born on December 23, 1918 in Shelby County, Texas to parents Daniel Fling Pollard and Kizzie Antoinette Weaver.  She had at had at least nine siblings and two half siblings.  They were< Francis Pollard (1901-1987), William Daniel Pollard (1909-1971), Pauline Pollard (1910-1940), Mary E. Pollard (1912-1995), Thoams Marshall Pollard (1913-1997), Woodrow Wilson (1913-  ), Joseph Graham Pollard (1915-1991),  Curtis Paul Pollard (1921-1995), Georgia Pollard (1880-1973) and infant that died at birth.

Mildred graduated from Timpson High School in 1936.

Mildred P. Harris, 92, was born December 23, 1918, in Henderson, Texas to Daniel and Kizzie Pollard. She passed away on October 22, 2011, in Beaumont, Texas. She lived in Logansport, Louisiana prior to relocating to Beaumont about 18 years ago. Funeral services will take place Thursday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m., at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home, with Pastor Lloyd Betar of Forest Park United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Center, Texas. Mrs. Harris is survived by her sons, Cleon B. Harris and wife, Carolyn of Broussard, LA., Eddie W. Harris and wife, Cynthia of Beaumont, TX; daughter, Linda K. Loudon of Austin, TX; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Harris; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and 1 grandson.
