Inez Bates Magness was born on April 7, 1918 to parents Otto Bates and Emma Bea Downing.  She graduated from Timpson High School in 1937.  On April 7, 1938 she married Fred Hollister Magness.  This marriage was lasted over sixty years until Fred passed away in 2002.  They had five children, Janelle, Kay, Freddy, Kathy and Krista.  They lived in the Weaver Community close to old Gulf Pump Station.  Inez passed away on April 24, 2005 and was laid to rest in the Weaver Cemetery beside Fred.
