Addie Bell Bogard (May) - Class Of 1937 VIEW PROFILE

Addie Belle Bogard May Addie Belle May was dearly loved by her family and friends. She went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2010. Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 4 p.m. EDT at Old Philadelphia Church in Quincy. Addie Belle graduated from Stephen F Austin College and taught school in El Paso, Texas.

 

She was also a stewardess for American Airlines. Addie Belle Bogard and Don F May, Sr. were married in 1944, in Texas. They returned to Quincy after WWII and raised their family until Don passed away in 1992. She loved being involved in the community and her church, First Presbyterian Church of Quincy where she dedicated much of her time and many talents.

 

She was an active member of the Garden Club and the Homemaker's Club. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Howell (Robert) and Lawson Peacock (Grant) of Atlanta; and two sons, Don May, Jr. (Mary Lil) of Quincy and Fred May (Carolyn) of Tallahassee; and nine grandchildren, Emily Lee (Tyler) of Quincy, Alison Howell of Atlanta, Marjorie Richardson (Patrick) of Marietta, Caroline Miller (Ed) of Tallahassee, Sarah Howell of Atlanta, Don Tyge Peacock of Atlanta, Grant Peacock of Atlanta, Richard Peacock of Atlanta, Joel May of Tallahassee; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Lee and Woods Miller; and one sister, Mayme Watson of Timpson, Texas.

 

Representing her Texas family at the service was her nephew Bryan Davis and family from Nacogdoches, Texas. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you for her wonderful caretakers over the last few years. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Quincy or Big Bend Hospice115 North Jackson St., Quincy Fl 32357.
