Funeral services for Sidney Louis Horton, 76, of Route 2, Box 242, Tenaha, was held at 10:00 Monday in Ramah Baptist Church withinterment in the Ramah Cemetery.

Officiating were Rev. J.T. Trotter and Rev. F.A. McCann. Mr. Horton passed away Septermber 3, 1988 at his reidence.

He was a native of Old Tennessee Community in Shelby County.  He was born March 9, 1912.  Parents were Calvin H. and Allie Roper Horton.  Mr. Horton was retired farmer, a member of Ramah Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Bagwell Horton of Tenaha; three sons, Lance and George Horton of Tenaha and Frank Horton of Beford; grandchildren Hailey Ann Horton, Zachary Horton of Tenaha, Ashley Horton, Marcus Hoton and Anthony Horton, all of Tenaha; Amber and Rachel Horton of Beford; two sisters, Alvis Foster and Mable Bowlin, both of the Tennessee Community;  two brothers, Foris Horton and E.R. Horton, also of Tennessee; and and uncle Rudolph Horton of Gary.

Pallbearers were B.I. Foster, Charlie Miller, Charles Chapman, B.K. Bowlin, Mike Halsey, and Guy Bagwell.  Services were under the direction of the Magnum Funeral Home.
