Donnie Lee Harvey - Class Of 1930 VIEW PROFILE

Donnie died on April 27, 1985.  He served in the Navy during WWII and is buried in the Corinth Cemeter

Funeral for Donnie Lee Harvey, 73,of Route 3, Box 125, in Appleby, was held Sunday, April 28 at 2:30 pm in the Oakley-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with burial in Corinth Cemetery in Timpson.  The Rev. Jeff May, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church officiated. Mr.Harvey died Saturdy, April 27, in Medical Center Hospital.  He was born August 3, 1911 in Timpson, the son of Jones J. Harvey adn Sallie Anderson Harvey.  He was a retired insurance agent for Washington National, a veteran of World War II,a resident of the city for 49 years,and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bernice Harvey of Appleby; his mother Sallie Harvey, of Carthage; a son, Gerald Harvey of Garland; a daughter, Mrs. Jancice Godwin of Houston; four brothers, Ralph Harvey of Timpson, Burtis Harvey of Gary, Elton Harvey of Longview, and Veston Harvey of Gary; a sister Mrs. Bonnie Woycheshin of Houston, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbears were Vernic Dale Rogers, Jr., Jim Hundley, Carl Kruger, Billy Reneau, Troy Slay and Dr. Wayne Boring. Honorary pallbearers wer the deacons of the Bethel Baptist Church of Appleby.
