Ila Mae Blankenship was born on August 7, 1901 in Timspon, +Texas to parents John Ernest Bankenship and Clara Eugenia Cozart.  In 1919 she graduated from Timpson High School.  She was married to Arthur Dawe (1887-1962).  They had two children, Myra Ann Dawe and Margaet R. Dawe.  It appears the couple lived in Gonzales, Texas most of their lives.  On January 23, 1968 she died in Lufkin as a result of an automobile accident.  She was laid to rest in Gonzales, Texas.
