Joe Bridwell - Class Of 1949 VIEW PROFILE

Joe Bridwell, 82, son of the late Susie (Rhodes) and Fred Clark Bridwell, was born March 7, 1929 in Rusk County, TX and passed away November 11, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mr. Bridwell retired from the paper mill after 36-1/2 years of service as a welder. He loved music and played the guitar and bass fiddle. He loved his family and they were his life. He also loved to play dominos with Essie. He graduated from high school in Timpson, Texas and was later married to Maurine Wilkerson. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #833 AF&AM. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bridwell is survived by his son-in-law, Randy McKnight of Diboll; niece, Sue Cromeens of Lufkin; and nephew, Bryon Bridwell of Lufkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maurine Bridwell; daughter, Cynthia McKnight; grandson, B. J. McKnight; son, Franklin Wayne Bridwell; brothers, Byron and F. M. Bridwell; sisters, Viola Williams and Essie Moore.
Pallbearers will be Charles Finley, Bobby Barfield, Gene Skelton, Charles Williams, Bryon Bridwell and Wade Bridwell.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 in Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Comstock officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
