Services for Bill Marshall, 80, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Marshall died Monday, May 3, 2010, in Tyler. He was born July 18, 1929, in Smackover, Ark., to the late Grady N. and Gertie Marshall. He had lived in Tyler for 40 years, having also lived in Pasadena and Odessa. He retired from LaGloria Refinery in Tyler and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Tyler.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marshall of Tyler; a son, Wayne Marshall of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Alecia L. Engelhardt of Tyler; stepsons, Wayne Thigpen, Al and Terri Thigpen, all of Tyler, Jim and Jean Thigpen of Nashville, Tenn., John Beard of Alvin, and Billy Ryan of Boerne; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Engelhardt, Billy Ryan, Geoffry Marshall, Joey Thigpen, P.J. Brown and Gabe Kelsey.

The family will receive friends at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 7720 S. Broadway, Tyler, 75703.
