James Clinton Crawford was born on February 4, 1936 to parents Charles Marion Crawford and Mary Eliza Reeves.  He had two siblings, Sybil Crawford (1922-1998) and Charles Ray Crawford (1934-1998).   Clinton graduated from Timpson High School in 1953.  On October 26, 1963 he married Jimmie Jewell Murphy (1929-2001).   He graduated from Timpson High School in 1953.  On October 26, 1963 at the age of 27 Clinton married Jimmie Jerwell Murphy.  In 1970 the couple were divorced. Clinton passed away on August 4, 1985 and was laid to rest in the Patroon Cemetery in Shelby County, Texas.
