Blackie Cranford officiating. Mrs. Fitts was born August 19, 1934 in Timpson, Texas, the daughter of the late Susie (Mosley) and Lem Eakin. She passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 in a local hospice facility. Mrs. Fitts was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed her family, especially her granddaughters Kelly and Christie. She was a graduate of Timpson High School, and worked at First Bank & Trust for 17 years. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and William Barrett of Lufkin; granddaughters, Kelly Hopson and husband Ryan and Christie Todd and husband Cragg; great-grandchildren, Barrett and Jack Hopson, Mary Michael and Millie Todd; nieces, Barbara Coker, Janet Twining and Judy Adkison; longtime friend and caregiver, Johnnie Jordan; and a number of other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fitts was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice G. Fitts; and her sister and brother. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Fitts’ memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
